Official information for Åndalsnes and Romsdalen since 1930

Norsk Tindesenter looms 30 meters above the ground and houses a modern, interactive exhibition about the Norwegian mountaineering history, a huge indoor climbing wall, a fantastic film experience and a restaurant.

Norsk Tindesenter is a new visitor center focusing on Norwegian history of mountaineering and climbing.

The center contains a climbing hall, exhibition, film experience, museum shop, and a mountain library. The exhibition is built upon the longstanding work of the climbing pioneer Arne Randers Heen, and his collection of historical material from Norwegian mountaineering history.

One of Norway’s highest climbing walls

The center houses one of the highest and most modern climbing walls in Norway. There is a challenging main wall with overhangs and varied routes. The highest climbing route is 21 meters! But you can also find easier routes suitable for beginners and children. There are some bouldering walls for those who want a lot of training, and for the youngest there is a bouldering cave where the little ones can romp.

Would you like to try the Via Ferrata?

Norsk Tindesenter offer guided tours in the spectacular Via Ferrata Romsdalsstigen.

Choose between the Intro route, a 3 hours climbing experience, and the West wall route – a challenging climb lasting 7 hours.

Spectacular movie experience

The auditorium in Norsk Tindesenter is certainly the only one of its kind. Here you can enjoy a 15 minutes movie experience showing extreme outdoor activities in Romsdal at its best!

The Tinderestaurant – Spiret Spiseri

The restaurant offers a varied and exciting menu based on fresh seasonal food. You can enjoy the meal with a fantastic view over the fjord and the peaks.
