Official information for Åndalsnes and Romsdalen since 1930

This is one of the shortest tours in the area, with easy access and great views. The descent is known to have good snow conditions most of the season.

Follow the Skorgedalen mountain road to the end, and park the car at the big parking spot at Rauma Ski Resort.

From the north-west corner of the car park you ski over the flat stretch North of Kjerringhaugen. Zigzag your way up through the birch forest and around on the south side of summit. Follow the ridge up to the lower south summit, and further up to the main summit. You have a marvellous view on top of the mountain. Please note that there might be an avalanche danger, and you should not traverse the east flank below the lower south summit. This is one of few places on this side of the mountain where avalanches are a risk.

Ski down follows the great flank to Skarvebotn, and you can enjoy the ski ride through the woods back to the car park. Enjoy this film about ski touring to the top of Skarven
