All parking in Åndalsnes is free of charge. But you should be aware of the strict parking rules!
Please note that Åndalsnes town has limited number of parking spots, and the maximum use of a parking spot is restricted to three hours. Short-term parking applies within signposted parking zone and includes all public parking lots in the town centre. It’s required that you use a parking timer (parking clock) in the windshield. Use it to display the time at which the car is parked, which in turn is used to enforce parking laws. It’s an unnecessary cost of NOK 600 if you fail to not use it correctly! The clock sticker is free and you can get one in shops, cafés, and at the Service office inside the City Hall, and at the Railway station building. Ask for “Parkeringsskive” (parking clock).
Short-term parking applies in the period from 08.00 to 17.00 on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00 on Saturdays. Parking outside the marked spots are not allowed. The speed limit is 30 km / h within the parking zone.
